Do you put a lot of thought into your email signature? I’ve never given much thought about my email signature until I read an email from Nancy Matthews. The reason I liked it is because it was a question =) I am Dreamosity after all which is 1/3 about curiosity.
I love when people can peak our curiosity so much that it inspires us to take action and helps our larger mission in life.
This is a piece of the example I love:
Take an extra moment and ask yourself….. What did I do today to grow my business? Who can I reach out to today to offer my help? Who can I reach out to and ask for help? It’s such a universal way of making a difference and it literally assisted me in changing my plans for the day. Not everyone needs the same product, or information… but questions seem to be effective no matter what your brand. Isn’t the goal of an email for the reader to take action?
What others are saying about professional email signatures
There are several rules of thumb for corporate type people and people who work withing large organizations. But for the smaller sized business and entrepreneur I believe we are allowed to have more creative reign. I found this post relevant, although I don’t agree with it because it seems to want to take the personality out of it.

This one says not to use color, well, sometimes color is effective =)
Freedom to Choose
The good thing is we can really decide for ourselves what will be most effective and appropriate in our line of work.
To make the best email signature will be something different to everyone. Check with the leaders in your company to see if you have to follow any particular rules, otherwise, it’s totally up to you =)
I’d say anytime you can get your customers & team to take action, you’re doing great.
